Post haste!

I am so psyched! In this coast-to-coast posting of posts, I received my first card today - from Sandy (thank you Sandy), a glorious friendly card that gave me a good feeling, and such happiness to see how we are all connecting.

Ah but what to do, what to do? Do I purchase touristy type postcards to send you all as a souvenir of my own local landscape, as-yet unvisited by all of you? Or do I get ambitious and MAKE a postcard using some of the software on my computer, thereby personalizing things further??

Dilemma, dilemma.

I will probably buy something beautiful to send everyone - since there is always a chance I can make something later if we opt to do this again. And I hope we do.

By the way, we are all now experiencing the same kind of excitement that Amateur Radio Operators knew decades and decades ago when the world was so much larger and it was linked only by radio waves and not networks of servers. "Ham" radio operators, as they are known, would send one another "QSL cards," which basically are postcards confirming that they have indeed connected with someone on another part of the planet.

Everything old is new again!! Hurrah for that.

Courtney - I just knew you would respond to that!
Squirrelmama, as I've recommended to Court in the past, read John Dunning's book "Twelve O'clock Eastern Wartime" (or is it Two? - mid-life brain strikes again!)
